Haute Route and USA Cycling Join Forces to Grow Amateur Cycling in the U.S.
New partnership features cross-promotional discounts and benefits for USA Cycling members and Haute Route event participants
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 20, 2018) – Haute Route, the world’s most prestigious multi-day event series for amateur cyclists, and USA Cycling, the official governing body for competitive cycling in the U.S., today announced a partnership to support the growth of the sport throughout the country. As part of the agreement, Haute Route event participants and USA Cycling members will receive a host of cross-promotional discounts and other benefits.
“Haute Route is excited to partner with USA Cycling and provide a development pathway for amateur riders of all abilities through our Haute Route branded three-day and seven-day events and through our partnership with the Gran Fondo National Series of one-day events,” said Alain Lambert, Chairman Haute Route in North America. “Haute Route is dedicated to growing the sport of cycling and offering safe, competitive and premium amateur cycling experiences for our participants in the years to come.”
Under the new partnership, all of Haute Route’s U.S. events will be sanctioned by USA Cycling. All current USA Cycling Race and Ride members will receive a $50 credit towards any three-day Haute Route event and $100 towards any seven-day Haute Route event, among other perks.
“We are thrilled to partner with Haute Route,” said Joan Hanscom, Vice President of Event Services for USA Cycling. “They bring a wealth of international ride and race production experience to their events and do an incredible job of showcasing the beauty of the regions they visit in addition to providing a premium rider experience. We are excited to bring the opportunity for our members to experience these multi-day events through the most iconic cycling terrain here on their home soil.”
USA Cycling-certified coaches and clubs can also share Haute Route discounts with their clients and gain the opportunity to earn one free entry to an Haute Route event in 2018.
The partnership with USA Cycling underscores Haute Route’s ongoing commitment to support and build a vibrant amateur cycling community in North America. Haute Route recently partnered with the Gran Fondo National Series (GFNS), one of the most beautiful and challenging amateur cycling series in the U.S., to expand its calendar of events. GFNS also launched a “U23 $23 Special” to offer riders under the age of 23 the opportunity to participate in any GFNS events for $23, thus encouraging and supporting youth participation in cycling.
