Thank you for providing motorcycle support for a gran fondo national series event

The steps required are:

  1. Sign waiver

  2. Fill out a Motor Vehicle Report for USA Cycling
*If you have a current unexpired MVR, a new one does not need to be completed.

  3. Fill out the form below

  4. Read and understand your responsibilities (also below)

You will be riding support during the event the bullet points below outline the basic responsibilities for you.

  • If a rider is injured call 911 immediately - the 911 response system is the fastest and best system. After calling 911 please call me at 717-357-0126. Please record the riders bib number so we know who they are. Once EMS support arrives we will no longer have access to any information due to HIPPA privacy laws.

  • Provide visual security to riders so they feel well supported - There will be a few riders who need assistance but most will not. However, it's important that riders who do not need support feel support is there if they should need it :)

  • Flat tires and basic mechanical support - If a rider is broken down please assist them. We will provide inner-tubes and an inflation device for you to use during the event. Please return after the event. If you have a bicycle pump you can carry on your moto, please bring it with you.

  • Cycling Support cars will be on course and will provide mechanical assistance for riders in need of more than a flat change.

  • Instruct cyclists to stay to the right and not to cross the centerline of the road.

  • You are NOT authorized to direct automotive traffic. You can assist cars to pass groups of riders but should be instructing rides to stay over to the right to make this possible.

  • It is good practice to pull over at intersections to visually assist riders to take turns

  • You should have a safety vest on at all times. We will provide one to you if you do not have one.

  • Arrival time is 7:30 am (7:00 am for the Highlands Gran Fondo) if you can not be there until later just let us know.

For mobile and downloadable maps please refer to the maps page and be sure to have a look at the event roadbook.
